Netflix Mexico: Upgrade To American Netflix

Rate this post

Netflix Mexico The Essential GuideNetflix Mexico is so close yet so far away!  That’s the best way to describe the difference between  the US and Mexican version of Netflix.

Mexico’s Netflix library is ok but when compared to the American Netflix library, well its eye opening to say the least.

USA Netflix has thousands  more top movies and shows to watch, leaving Mexico’s Netflix library options looking very limited.

Each countries Netflix’s libraries are basically the same in how they work, but much of the content is restricted in Mexico do to licensing rules and agreements.  Once you see what you are missing out on with Netflix Mexico you will be frustrated and asking how you can get around this restriction.

Luckily, there is a way to access the US Netflix Library from Mexico.  All you need is a super reliable VPN service.  I have done extensive personal research and have found that the number 1 most reliable VPN service is HMA.  HMA has a Pro VPN service that allows you to select a US location for your computer’s IP address.  An IP address is similar to a home address and allows websites to see where your computer is located.

HMA allows you to choose your own virtual location anywhere around the world.  In this case you would want to choose a US city as your IP address thus giving you access to the much desired US Netflix library with your current Netflix Mexico account.

It’s really very easy and we have put together a simple to follow step by step guide.

Step #1: Head On Over To HMA

This first step is a simple one.  Just head on over to HMA and get registered as it is the absolute best and most affordable Pro VPN on the market today.

Now, I know what your probably thinking…affordable?  How much is this service?  It’s less than a few beers per month affordable or a 7 songs from iTunes and very reasonable when you know just how much content it can unlock for you in Mexico. At this price per month HMA is an absolute steal.

Step #2: The Amazing Software For Your Netflix Mexico Upgrade

Now that your registered at HMA you have complete access their superb software package.  Head on over into your member’s only area and click the download software button and give it a few minutes to work its magic.   Once the software download is complete, open it up and login.

Want US Netflix In Mexico, This is Step 1

Now you’ll want to setup the software properly in order to get the best results.  We recommend you set it up to “randomly select the closest 10 US cities to your geographic location”.  This setting will ensure that each time you use HMA Pro VPN software you will get a unique IP address.  This helps to keep the website restrictions away and by choosing the closest US cities you shouldn’t see a noticeable website slowdown.

Now just head on over to Netflix and sign in as normal.  And now comes the hardest step of all….

Step #3: Deciding What To Watch First

Ohhh… the decisions!  Now, thanks to HMA, that you have access to the largest Netflix Library imaginable you must make the difficult decision on what to watch first.  We recommend the first season of “The Walking Dead” but ultimately its entirely up to you!

If you’re still reading this post then we assume your still not certain.  Well let me share a few more insights into the amazing software that HMA is.  Not only will HMA allow you to access the US Netflix Library but it will also allow you to access the amazing US based content site HULU from Mexico.  What about accessing the popular music websites Pandora Internet Radio (click here for the Pandora guide) or Spotify (click here for the Spotify guide)?  Yes those are unblocked with HMA as well.

Want To Try HMA Risk Free?  HMA is so confident of their product that they offer a 100%, no questions asked, 30 day money back guarantee.

So what are you waiting for?  Get over to HMA and give your Netflix Mexico account a massive upgrade risk free!
If you find this guide helpful and you end up loving HMA as much as I do, please do me on huge favor and share this with your friends!

I can confirm that I was able to get Netflix USA when I was in Mexico last week. Awesome stuff, thanks so much for sharing this tip.

Glad you were able to get it working!

Muriel July 10, 2013 at 8:54 pm

I have watched both the US and Mexican Netflix and I have come to the conclusion that Mexican Netflix is much better. An example would be Archer, Mexico has four seasons while the US has only 3. A few things are like that. My son watches Curious George and Mexico offers more episodes.

Brent July 15, 2013 at 4:18 pm

Muriel, it’s true that there are shows on Netflix Mexico that are not available on Netflix USA. With HMA you can have the best of both worlds as you can turn it on and off whenever you want to get the Mexican version of Netflix or the American version of Netflix.

You can even log into servers in the UK if you would like to access the UK version of Netflix of servers in South America for the Latin American version of Netflix.

With HMA you can virtually reside in many different countries and enjoy the best content each country has to offer. Enjoy!

Is the Mexico version of netflix in spanish?

Brent October 27, 2013 at 11:47 am

There is more Spanish language programming than the US version. The US version also has more options and more shows than Netlfix Mexico.

Another Question,
This is my situation I live in Tijuana Mexico, I want to sign up and get a neflix account, (I only want the regular US version like everyone else, but I live in TJ) so when I go to the netflix website to get my free trial and sign up it automatically knows I’m in Mexico? and is asking for mexico currency when I was going to give my debit card, so should I use a computer is the US to sign up and get an account with them so I’m in the states when I sign up, then try and log in from Tj and see if it works if not then try the HMA thing? Basically I think I should create my account and pay from a computer in the US right? then try and get on netflix on my xbox here in mexico? Sorry I’m just confused…..and also I wonder if the “mexico version” of netflix are the shows in spanish? or are they in english like normal? please give me advise has anyone ever seen netflix in mexico?

Brent October 27, 2013 at 11:46 am

Angela, thanks for reading and thanks for the question. You can sign up for Netflix as you normally would from Mexico so you’re able to access all of the Spanish language shows as well.

When you want to access the American version of Netflix from Mexico all you need to do is turn HMA on. Once HMA is on you will be virtually residing in the USA (most likely a server in San Diego) meaning that you will be able to access the US Version of Netflix. Enjoy :)!

Hi Brent! This is my situation: I live in Guatemala, thus I only have access to Netflix Mexico. I was wondering if these VPN settings work if I´m watching Netflix on Apple TV (if they do, is it the same procedure or does it change?), or only if I´m watching it in my computer.

Thanks for the help

Brent April 28, 2014 at 12:59 am

If you want to use your Apple TV you will need a DD-WRT enabled router that you will install HMA on. Then your entire network can be virtually residing in another location. Let me know if you need more help.

Hi Brent! I was wondering if I can install Netflix USA from Yucatan with HMA and will it work on my Xbox? Also does the Netflix USA version offer Spanish programming for my parents?

Brent August 23, 2014 at 12:34 pm

If you’re using HMA you’ll be able to virtually reside in the USA which will allow you to set up a US Netflix account if you want.

You should also be able to just sign up for the local version of Netflix and usa HMA to access the American version of Netflix.

By connecting HMA to a server in Latin America you will be able to access the vast library of Spanish language programming. Thanks for reading and leaving a comment!

is this only for computers? i have an lg smart tv and i want to get us netflix will this work with my tv

Brent April 21, 2015 at 12:35 am

You will need to have a DD-WRT enabled router so you can install HMA on that router. This will let your entire network virtually reside somewhere else.

Just connect to one of HMA’s servers in the UK.
